Togar, a prisoner, is the leader of the Batak gang in Lawang Betung. Regular violence between his gang and a Javanese gang, led by Joko, makes daily life in the prison a dangerous negotiation between the adversaries.

When the opportunity arises to form a prison soccer team, Togar wants to become captain. With his release date looming, Togar feels he has no option but to behave – even if it means cooperating with Joko on the team.

“I’ll be free soon, so I’d rather stay calm and keep my attitude good here,” he tells his wife over the phone.

The team’s success, which largely depends on the two gang leaders coming together to work for a common cause, is put to the test when an injury forces Togar to hand over his position as captain to Joko.
